As we all know, our Prime Minister of India has come out with a variety of new schemes for the unemployed so that everyone can get employment. Keeping the same in mind, there are many different routes for employment, in which one place belongs to GeM. Now the women who give inspiration, do self-work and make different items with their hands and spend their lives are included in this system.

1. Which items made by women can be sold on the GeM portal?

There are a lot of items made on the game portal by women who can be sold and some of the items which are not being sold yet can be sold easily in the coming time on the government e-marketplace.

  • From Jute bags made by women to file folders on GeM
  • From hand-cleaned and harvested grains from fields,
  • Crushed spices and pure honey can also be sold.

And there are many other items which are made by women living in every corner of the country; they are available on all government e-marketplaces.

2. When was this scheme made for women?

It was created by the Center on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, 2020, as a big inspirational scheme for women entrepreneurs so that they can easily sell the clothes they have made and can guide the rest of the women and working people.

3. What decisions did the government take under this scheme?

  • The government's (PFMS) system was finally concluded on March 7, 2020, the day before International Women's Day.
  • After linking 150 (SHG) with GeM by the Government on 7 March 2020, it has been enlarged by the Center to 58.50 lakhs, reaching more than 6 crores, women entrepreneurs in rural areas of India.

4. What products are included on GeM during Women's Day in the year 2020?

The women products which have been included on GeM during Women's Day are as follows: -

  • File cover
  • Envelopes
  • Paintings
  • Wall hanging
  • Coarse grains
  • Millet
  • Fever
  • Flour
  • Cloth

5. What steps were taken on the interests of women entrepreneurs and self-help groups on GeM?

Apart from this, an online system was launched by the Ministry of Rural Development for women entrepreneurs.

  • Through which self-help groups and women entrepreneurs will get help in getting a loan from a bank.
  • The GeM is trying to ensure better access to bank loans to self-help groups.
  • Women entrepreneurs can apply for a bank loan through the mobile app and online method, inherent in the new system.

6. How is this online system important on GeM?

In this online system, banks have already been integrated on GeM so that they can easily access the details of the applicant after the loan is approved, an SMS is received, after which the lady entrepreneur will need to go to the bank. Through this system, repayment can be easily monitored by banks.

The Center has been written to the state government and under the State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) an officer has been designated as the GeM coordinator to help (SHGs) to get GeM Registration online with the e-marketplace. That is, steps have also been taken to facilitate registration at the common service centers in the village and this process will continue as per their requirement in the future.
