#Why the government launched the Champions portal?


The financial crisis has come to micro and medium industries (MSMEs) at this time regarding lockdown. Keeping this in mind, Modi Government has launched the portal champions.gov.in.


On Monday 1st June, PM Modi has made many announcements to promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). To solve the problems faced in this sector and to redress the grievance, the technology platform has been launched.


This portal is designed to encourage, encourage and help grievances of entrepreneurs. Through this portal, the grievances of the people will be resolved within seven days. The platform includes IT support, call centers, artificial intelligence government systems, and monitoring and data analysis systems. The portal has been directly linked to the office of MSME Secretary Arvind Kumar located in New Delhi.


#What is specialty about the 'champion' portal?


Explain that this time the financial crisis has come to micro and medium industries regarding lockdown. Keeping this in mind, the Modi government has launched the 'champion' platform. Through this platform, entrepreneurs will also be able to discover new possibilities. This system has been prepared by the governmental institution NIC. The hub of this system will be in Delhi and 66 state level control rooms have been built across the country. In which video conferencing is also available. The objective of this platform is to make small industry big.


The Union Cabinet met on Monday 1 June 2020 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many historical decisions have been taken in this meeting about MSMEs. A package of Rs. 20,000 crore have been approved for MSMEs stuck in trouble. The Urban Housing Ministry has launched a special micro-loan scheme.


#Who will get benefit from this scheme?


A major loan scheme has been announced in the cabinet meeting, especially for street vendors and track shoppers. The Urban Housing Ministry has launched a special micro-loan scheme. Through this, small shops or street vendors can take loans. This plan will last for a long time. More than 50 lakh shopkeepers will get benefit of this. There are more than 60 million MSMEs across the country. After the corona virus epidemic, PM Modi, considering the importance of this sector, has decided to allocate for MSMEs.


  • National/international helps:


PM Modi's endeavor is to help small industries emerge at national and international level through this portal. MSME Secretary AK Sharma has been specially sent from the Prime Minister's Office as Secretary of this department. Secretary of MSMEs Mr. AK Sharma has said that the ministry will provide all possible help to the people involved in it.


  • Help to start own enterprises:


This portal is for small entrepreneurs, associations associated with small scale industries and all those who want to build their own enterprise. Entrepreneurs who are facing difficulties regarding their business can file their complaints here. Not only this, if you have MSME registration or you are having difficulty in getting loan or you are not able to get a raw-material to run their enterprise, then you can reach your ministry through this portal. Apart from this, if you are being harassed by any government official or if any department is hesitant to give the necessary approvals to start a new business, then you can reach out to the government through this portal.

  • All in one portal for MSME's


All complaints registered by the MSME, whether it is filed by the Government's Centralized Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) or any other portal of the Ministry of MSME, will be resolved through this Champions Portal. Actually, now any other portal filed by the MSME Ministry will get complaints in the Automatic Champions Portal.


  • File will open in three days, and work will be completed in 7 days


The Ministry will send these complaints according to the state and district. These complaints will come to the branches / bureau / office heads under the Ministry and these officers will look into the problems of entrepreneurs within three days. Not only this, it has also been made mandatory to solve it in seven days.


#Champions control room created across the country



  • To solve the problems of entrepreneurs, the Ministry has set up "Champions Control Rooms" in MSME Development Institutes across the country. These will help small businesses. At present, 66 state level control rooms are functioning across the country.
  • Former chairman of the Indian Industries Association (IIA) Manish Goyal said that the MSME sector has been neglected for the last 15-20 years without government assistance. Not only during the Covid-19, have small industries always faced a lot of problems. This initiative of the government is very good for small entrepreneurs. The government has taken several steps for small entrepreneurs. This will benefit small businessmen.
  • MSMEs are the backbone of the Indian economy. These industries contribute about 29 percent of the country's gross domestic product. The MSME sector is the largest source of employment in the country. According to an estimate, the livelihood of about 12 crore people depends on this sector. To realize the government's $ 5 trillion economy mission by 2024, the region's GDP contribution needs to go up to 50%. Because of this, the government's focus has shifted towards this sector.
