Procedure of payment for contribution under ESI

How is ESI contribution paid?
Once registered, the employer is required to make monthly contributions through the ESIC portal in respect of all its employees. The contribution to be paid is calculated using the number of days of the employee for which the wages are paid and the number of contributions paid respectively to calculate the number of wages payable. The total amount of contribution (including shares of employees and employers) in respect of all employees for each month will have to be deposited in any branch of SBI on the generation of invoices like cash or check or demand draft.
If an employer wishes to pay ESI contribution self an online payment method then must follow the process:
Open the official ESIC website.
Scroll down the home page to find the sub-title ESIC link '.
Under 'ESIC link', find 'Pay E-Challan'. Click the link to start ESIC contribution payment.
Enter your employer code and captcha. Then Click on 'Search'.
You will automatically be directed to another page where your factory name and address will be presented.
Find the invoice number related to the list below the factory address. Click on the invoice number.
The generated invoice number will be shown. Note the number and click 'Continue'.
If you want to make a payment through your SBI account, click 'SBI'. If you want to make a payment from any bank other than SBI, click on the 'Internet Banking of other banks'.
If you have clicked on 'Banks Other Bank Internet banking', then you have to select the bank from the drop-down menu. Click on 'Make Payment'. The page will then be redirected to the respective bank's gateway.
Enter the online banking Customer ID and password.
Check the payment details that appear on the screen and click 'Pay'.
After successful payment of the amount, you will be redirected to the ESIC page which will present the details of the payment and specify the status of the transaction as 'Completely successful'.
If you are unable to pay ESIC contribution online
If you are not able to contribute online, follow the steps given below:
Open the official ESIC website.
Sub-title link Scroll down to the home page to find the ESIC link.
Under 'ESIC link', click on the link and click 'Unable to pay online'? '
Download the challan form, fill in the required details, and submit the contribution through cash / check with SBI or any other ESIC authorized bank branch.
