What is GST Portal?

The GST Portal is the official website of the Government of India www.gst.gov.in. Using this portal, once you are registered, taxpayers can register their taxes, file returns, make payments and apply for refund. Taxpayers can use this portal to cancel their GST Registration and related analyses.They can easily solve their problem with the help of this portal.This portal allows the user to respond to such information. The GST portal encourages taxpayers to file taxes on their own without professional help.

How to register on GST Portal?

Process to register on GST Portal:

Visit the official website of GST, www.gst.gov.in and then click on 'GST Practitioner'.

After that click on 'Register Now'. And select the option 'New Registration'.

• Provide your details and upload required documents.

After this you will receive a One-time Password (OTP). Enter the OTP and fill the captcha code given below and then click on proceed.

• After submitting the application form, you will receive an acknowledgment number. After this you will get GST No, User ID and Password and with this the application process ends.

You can use this details to login to the GST portal. A taxpayer can also do his own registration.

How to login in GST Portal?

Step 1- Go to www.gst.gov.in the official website for login.

Step 2- After login, after entering the details like User Name, Password, Captcha code, go for Login.

Step 3- Now your dashboard is open. You can see options like Notice, GST payable and GST Return filing.

Step 4- If you are a new user, click on 'Here' against 'First Time Login'. Then provide your User ID, Provisional Id,UIN, GSTIN, or GSTP ID, then your password and then go for 'Login'.

Step 5- You may face some problems during the existing user login of GST. Whereas if you forget your username, you will have to generate a new username using your GSTIN, there is an option on the front page to generate.

You will have to enter your GSTIN and it will generate an OTP which will be sent to your registered email id and mobile number. Once the OTP is received, you will have to feed it and a new username will be generated.

Step 6- There is also an option to forget the password. Click on it and then you will be directed to a page where you will have to feed your username and generate an OTP (One Time Password-OTP).

This OTP will be sent to your email id and phone number. Fill out the OTP beyond the given time and select your new password for further

Step 7- If you do not receive the OTP the first time, try to resend the OTP by pressing the Resend OTP button.

If there is still a problem in receiving the OTP in your email, then there is a possibility that the mail may be in your Spam folder, so check it.

How to check GST Registration Application Status?

Process to check GST Registration Application Status:

  • Go to the official website of GST.
  • Select 'Registration' under 'Services' and then click on 'Track Your Application Status'.
  • Select 'ARN' and enter ARN number and click on 'Search'.
  • Follow the instructions to check the status of your GST Registration Application.
