• Your password must contain at least 7 characters.

• You can have a maximum password of 20 characters.

• ABCD must contain at least 4 characters.

• There should be at least one capital letter of the English alphabet.

• There should be at least one small letter of the English alphabet.

• There must be at least one special character (@ #% ^ & * etc.).

• Must contain at least two digits (letters of count).

• After this, put the same password again in the box next to Confirm Password. After this, click on the button of Submit.

Step 7: With this the process of creating a new password is completed and the message of Password Changed successfully comes on the screen. The login link also appears. You can also check the new password by clicking on it.

2. How to create a new password by logging into the EPF account? 

If you know the password, then create with logging:

If your password is known to anyone, or if you want to create a new password, or if you want to create a simple password, then you can log in to your EPF account and set a new password. The steps required for this are as follows-

Step 1: Open the Unified Portal of EPFO. Click on the link

Step 2: A UAN member e-SEWA login box appears on the right. Enter your

1. UAN number and 

2. Password and log in.

Step 3: On the top header, you see the button of "Account". If you click on it, the option of a Change password will appear. And Click on it.

Step 4: On the new page you find three boxes above the top. Put the old password in the empty box in front of the Old Password. In the empty box next to New Password, enter the new password. Put the new password again in the box in front of Confirm New Password.

Step 5: Click on the option of update at the bottom. With this, your password is changed and the message of Password updated successfully comes.

3. How to change the EPF account password if you lose your mobile number?

Change password in case of the lost mobile number

If the mobile number (which was registered at the time of getting PF registration) is lost or stolen, you must first change the mobile number in the EPF account. After that, there is an option to create a new password. The stages of the entire process are as follows -

Step 1: Go to the integrated portal of EPFO and click on the forgotten password on the login page.

Step 2: Enter the UAN number and captcha code and click on the submit button.

Step 3: Your UAN number and the mobile number appears on the screen. At the bottom where on 'Do you want to send OTP to the mobile number given above', click on the No button instead of Yes.

Step 4:  Now you have to give the following details about yourself-

• Name (Enter the exact spelling that is registered in your EPF account.)

• Date of birth

• Gender

• And click on the Verify button.

Step 5: Once your details are validated, you have to verify your Aadhaar or PAN number.

Step 6: Now you have to enter a new mobile number and click on Get OTP to order OTP on this number.

Step 7: 6 digit OTP will come on your new mobile number. Verify it by putting it in the OTP box.

Step 8: The message of OTP Verified Successfully will come on your mobile and you will get the option to enter a new password.

Enter a new password in the box next to New Password. In the box next to Confirm New Password, enter the new password again and click on the Submit button. With this, the process of changing the password is completed and the message of Password Changed successfully comes on the screen.
