Relief on interest rate of Shishu mudra loan

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several major announcements on Wednesday and Thursday under the Self-Reliant India Package. One of these announcements is also about the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. The Finance Minister has announced a two percent interest rebate on Shishu Mudra Loans. This rebate in interest will benefit small businessmen in taking loans. A loan of up to 50 thousand rupees can be taken in this scheme.


What is Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) was launched on 8 April 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this scheme, loans up to Rs 10 lakh are provided to those doing business. These loans are given by commercial backers, RRBs, small finance banks, MFIs, and NBFCs. Customers can visit these institutions to talk about loans or apply online by visiting the portal www.udyamimitra.in. The loan is easily available in this scheme without any assurance.


How many types of loans are there in Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana?

There are three types of loans available.

Three types of loans are disbursed under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. Shishu Mudra Loans, Kishore Mudra Loans, and Tarun Mudra Loans. Shishu Mudra's loan is mainly for small businessmen. A loan of up to Rs 50,000 can be taken in this. On the other hand, Kishore Mudra loans can be availed from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh. Apart from this, when talking about Tarun Mudra loan, it gets between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh.


How can a person get a Loan under PMMY?

If a person wants to start a small business and for that they need money, then they can take a loan under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. For this, they have to go to the nearest bank branch with information related to their business and important identity documents. They will be informed about their business in the bank there. They may also be asked to create a project report related to the business. After this, their loan will be approved based on their business. In this scheme, different interest rates are charged by different banks.

The government has announced a discount of two percent on interest on the Shishu Mudra loan on Thursday. That is, this amount will now be given by the government. At present, interest in the Shishu Mudra loan is being charged by banks at the rate of about 10 to 11 percent. This rebate will be given by the government for 12 months. According to the government, about three crore people will get the benefit of this relief. The loan borrower will save Rs 1500 crore by a discount of two percent in interest.
